A minutes silence preceded all our fixtures over the course of the weekend with Remembrance Day on Monday and to pay respect to Allan Mitchener from the Testway League who sadly passed away during the week.
The UNDER 16’s secured their place in the quarter finals of the Testway Cup comfortably seeing off Littleton Rebels at Barry’s Field.
It was a fast start for the hosts who took a first minute lead through Charlie Young before Frankie Moody converted Oscar Smith’s pass to make it 2 inside the opening 2 minutes.
It could have been game over in the first 5 minutes as Moody placed wide and then miskicked in front of goal as another chance went by.
After the game settled and Littleton almost pulled a goal back when they hit the bar via a save from Ethan Standen in the hosts goal.
It was the home side who continued to create the better chances but had to wait until the midway point to increase their lead with Young converting a Moody assist.
A fourth arrived when Oscar Smith added his name to the scoresheet from a Moody assist before captain Charlie Orchard powered home a header from fellow Charlie Young’s corner for a 5-0 lead at the break.
A sixth goal arrived 9 minutes into the second half as the ball worked forward allowed Moody to control and fire in across goal to the far corner.
Littleton kept plugging away and Standen had to again be alive to turn behind an effort, while his opposite number made two good saves to deny Clarendon.
Jack Pollard supplied Young with a ball down the right channel to complete his hatrick as he ran through to finish before Moody followed suit by swivelling just inside the area to fire in a left foot half volley for his third of the game.
With a third cleansheet on the bounce looming the hosts defence had to be alert again to deny Littleton shots on goal.
With two minutes to go Charlie Young used his power and pace to hold off a challenge before advancing and cutting in from the right and rounding the keeper for his fourth.
There was still time to make it ten with Moody providing a third assist with a right wing cross for Harvey Smith to tuck home.
The UNDER 15’s GREENS were also in cup action as they booked their place in the semi finals of the trophy plate with a convincing 6-2 win at Testlands.
The Greens started strong and applied a lot of pressure to the Testlands goal and Immy Latter opened the scoring when Oralie King cut the ball back from the by-line for Latter to hit a great shot past their keeper.
Top scorer Ava Bowley-Lees doubled the lead 2 minutes later with a lob shot from the edge of the area.
Testlands managed to get behind the Greens defence to slot a close range shot in the far corner which was just out of reach for Izzy Bealing.
King then turned goal scorer when she struck an amazing shot from outside the area.
Bowley-Lees scored her 2nd of the game which rounded off the scoring in the first half.
Start of the second half was pretty uneventful until Testlands got their second with a low shot through bodies, following a corner.
Testlands then had a chance to get their 3rd but Bealing was on hand to make an excellent diving save.
Greens then started to dominate and were awarded a penalty after Bowley-Lees was brought down in the box but the spot kick was missed.
Greens could have scored again when Bowley-Lees, Esme Robinson & Amber Batchelor all had attempts in a goal mouth scramble, but Testlands blocked well.
Greens pressure was rewarded with 2 quick fire goals, first Captain Lexi Gray headed home from King’s corner for her first of the season, then Batchelor hit a low shot from outside the area to conplete the scoring.
The UNDER 15’s WHITES hosted Littleton Legions in the league and secured a 4-2 win.
Captain Ellis Mundy opened the scoring from a Josh Scott pass who was making his 100th appearance before Legions levelled two minutes later.
It didn’t take long to re-establish the lead as Harvey Shord’s freekick into the box on the right eluded everyone in red and white and blue and white and somehow managed to find the far post.
Mundy made it 3-1 on 13 minutes before the visitors pulled a goal back before half time.
A scrappy second half saw very few chances but the Littleton keeper made two point blank saves to deny Ben Leeming, but Mundy made the points safe towards the end by completing his hatrick.
The UNDER 15’s REDS lost 3-0 to Worthys Reds on Saturday in the league but bounced back on Sunday with a strong 11-1 win away to AFC Corsham Leopards in the Wilts Cuo on Sunday.
A hatrick from Ed Woodhouse let the way with Carter Cox netting a double.
A sharing of further goals saw Dexter White, Archie Thomas, Stan Goodridge-Reynolds, Ollie Calais and Theo Baker all register as they eased into the second round.
The UNDER 14’s REDS started well against Braishfield Bees at home in the Testway Cup, with Alex Bull scoring twice in the opening 5 minutes.
However, with no recognised goalkeeper, and only 1 sub the team had to dig deep against a quick and powerful Braishfield team who worked their way back into the game and took the lead.
Alex Bull did complete his hatrick but it was the visitors who moved through to the next round with a 5-3 win.
The UNDER 14’s WHITES hosted Worthys Reds in the league and moved 2 points clear at the top of the table with a comfortable win.
Captain Jack Street opened the scoring from a Rory Young assist before Street turned provider for Leighton Gray and then Isaac Rawlinson to extend their lead to 3-0.
Gray set up Tom Harwood for 4-0, before Alex Glover assisted Street for his second.
Glover added his name to the scoresheet before Olly Harris supplied Street for his hatrick to complete a 7-0 win.
The UNDER 13’s GREENS saw off Andover Vixens in the Hants League Trophy with a 3-0 win.
Player of the match Sophie Shord scored twice with Madison Syret also on target.
The UNDER 13’s WHITES were without a number of players as they traveled to Overton Whites in the league.
Despite a goal from Henry Cox, they suffered a tough morning losing 7-0
The UNDER 12’s picked up a 4-2 win in their JPL South Coast League match at home to Romsey Town.
Without their usual goalkeeper, Teddy Robinson stepped in and produced some great saves throughout the game including a spectacular double save, and clawing a dipping effort from behind him out.
At the other end, chances were coming thick and fast with Charlie Green executing a superb performance playing as an attacking midfielder, playing with composure and providing support to the dangerous Clarendon attack.
Eventually the whites were rewarded when a ball over the top was controlled with a series of header keep ups by Declan Owens, and as the ball sat nicely, he smashed in to the bottom corner.
Romsey did claw their way back to lead 2-1 at the break.
With Robinson in goal, Zach Andrews took the captains armband and put in a heroic performance in midfield. Time and time again he was first to every ball, cancelling out every direct Romsey attack with a beast of a performance.
Warwick Mackett was holding strong at the back, with some big tackles and headers, supported by the excellent full backs Henry Busby Grayer and Oliver Davies who were equally impressive, often getting up and down the wings to support.
The whites then found an equaliser, when Tom Latter unleashed a rocket from the left corner of the box, over the keeper and in to the far top corner.
On the other side the always dangerous Ollie Chapman was proving too hot to handle for the opposition and delivered some beautiful crosses in the box that the whites found hard to convert past the Romsey team bus.
As the whites pressed high, Declan Owens produced a moment of individual brilliance as he weaved his way through to give the whites the lead.
Lawson Mahony was switching from wing to wing, and with the energetic Jonty Simpson causing havoc, high pressing along with Chapman, Owens and Latter, Simpson finished off a move with a well deserved goal to give the whites a 4-2 win.
The UNDER 12’s were in league cup action and came through their second round tie away to CK Andover.
Fantastic pressure and a great work rate resulted in the midfield controlling the game early on. The Andover goal was well and truly under siege until Jay Burden finally broke through with the first goal.
Some excellent tackles from the defence and a controlling performance from Sam Harris at centre back stopped most of Andover’s attacks.
The Andover offside trap caused the Reds attackers a lot of headaches in the first half, but in the second half the teams patience was rewarded with some great team goals, the pick of the bunch, winning possession in defence, quick 1-2s slicing through the midfield then a finish from icy veined Charlie Malcolm.
Jay Burden went into complete a hatrick with Rafe Symons following suit and Ollie Webb also scoring.
A classy long ranged floater from Toby Wright when he saw the keeper off his line was the cherry on top and sealed a brilliant all round Reds performance in a 9-1 win.
Also in cup action was the UNDER 11’s GREENS who put in a superb performance against Chineham in their second round match.
Despite the visitors being a division above the team defended stoutly and went close a number of times.
The game ended with clean sheets for both teams sending the game to penalties, which saw the visitors succeed to reach the next round with a shootout win, but the girls can be proud of their performance.
The UNDER 11’s WHITES were in league action in a friendly against Overton Blues.
It was a fairly even game with the Blues being clinical in front of goal and their keeper being in fine form between the sticks.
A Player of the match performance from Dillon Treagust who was all over the pitch and very calm in front of goal when he had the chance to finish.
A goalfest between the UNDER 10’s WHITES and Shipton Bellinger Rams made for an end to end exciting match to entertain the spectators. At Sarum academy on the 3G
The Whites played some cracking football at times, but in a very open game the Rams equally enjoyed some success but super shot stopper Tom Boddy in goal again making some great saves and player of the match Alfie Evans in defence was in fine defending mode.
Kyan Dreyer and Josh Miles each scored with Theo Johnson netting a hatrick and Igor Podsiadlo hitting 5.
The UNDER 10’s REDS produced their most positive display to date competing against a very strong Pathway DC team.
After an impeccably observed minute silence before kick off, Clarendon had the best of the first half but neither defence could be breached in the first half.
Coach Callum’s halftime team talk gave the team a boost going into the second half and Henry Bowyer’s excellent cross into the box from the left wing was turned into the goal by an unfortunate defender.
PDC responded quickly quickly via an equally unfortunate own goal.
Top goalscorer Oli Golden scored the teams second goal as he made a signature run at the PDC defence and found space to fire a right foot shot into the bottom corner.
The reds battled hard for the remainder of the match with great work from Zac Durbin, George Terry and Alex Keyes in defence backed up MOTM Albie Lysaght in goal for his distribution and communication with his defence.
The UNDER 9’s went head to head in an all Clarendon derby with both teams playing their part.
It was the WHITES who started strongly from the kickoff with Ben Stephens and Shrey Patel both scoring quick goals.
Stephens added two further goals before the end of the first quarter to complete his hatrick.
The Reds defended stoutly during the power play which brought some stability before half time.
The second half saw the whites make wholesale changes to their team and the Reds took advantage with some dominant possession in the third quarter, the only thing missing was a goal for their efforts but the Reds led by Austin Field and Jones Jaison relentlessly pressured the Whites looking for the goal that their possession deserved.
The best chance came in the fourth quarter through an excellent shot from Amaru Castellano, but he was only denied by an equally excellent diving save from Shrey Patel in the whites goal, this brought the whites back to life and saw Stephens score a further goal along with Jake Bull.
The UNDER 8’s REDS hosted Overton Pumas who started well but the team remained positive and took on board everything they spoke about when it comes to working hard and that they did.
Tom Brown got his first goal of the game with a lovely assist from Oscar Watts which gave the team momentum and saw Elsie Tinne fire home with a lovely strike from outside the box.
Watts certainly had his weatabix for breakfast with a great interception from the oppositions goal kick and dribbled the ball in with his left foot.
The Reds have been working on there skills & dribbling which is starting to show as Nellie Robbinson won the ball and dribbled into the box with a lovely bottom corner finish.
Brown stepped up to take a penalty and duly found the top bins with a great strike.
The team had shown a good level of passing through the game and working together creating space for each other and working In triangles and it was evident as Robinson registered her 100th goal for the club after great passing movements from Watts & Raff Rose.
Brown completed his hatrick with another top corner finish from outside the area to add to his collection.
Harry Easley and Watts linked up really well with some great passing which led to a great goal from Rose from Easley’s cross .
Brown get on the score sheet again this time from his own goal line after an awesome goal kick, before the scoring was complete for the Reds with another lovely cross from Easley which led to another great goal from Rose.
A special mention to Easley who worked so hard all game which was lovely to see him enjoying his football.
Player of the match went to Brown not just for his amazing goals but his fantastic work ethic.
Evan Wright scored twice with goals from Jacob Elder and Kai West as the UNDER 8’s WHITES played Bemerton Heath Harlequins in a friendly on Sunday.
The UNDER 7’s REDS produced a fine display at home to Overton.
Player of the match went to Oskar Shann who also found the target with Oscar Bate scoring his first goal for the club.
Reuben Durbin was unbeatable in the Reds goal while Evie Provan scored a double and Arlo Watts was also on the scoresheet.
The UNDER 7’s WHITES were involved in a thrilling end to end encounter at home to Fordingbridge Turks.
Whites absorbed a lot of pressure in the first quarter with Andy Barnes pulling off a series of good saves to keep the side in the game, supported by resolute defending from Ryan Burton, Joshua Willingale and Jude Hart-Short
Then against the run of play Jason Muzavazi sprinted the length of the pitch, outrunning the opposition before calmly slotting home.
Second quarter saw a hatrick from Ethan Glanville and a quality goal for the captain Willingale.
Fordingbridge kept fighting back and the game was still ebbing and flowing going into the final quarter.
Two further goals for Glanville competed the Whites scoring although Ruben Smith and Alex Delgado-Kemp were particularly unlucky not to get on the scoresheet.
A lovely contested game, played in fantastic spirit saw Smith named as player of the match for his tackling, assists and passing.
The SENIOR SATURDAY side picked up another three points with a 3-2 home win against Sporting Wessex.
In an untidy game where the team couldn’t find any rhythm they did take the lead following strike from Callum Roberts just before half time.
Wessex equalised 15 minutes into the second half but Clarendon kept creating chances and Chey Hayer finished at the back post from Jack Latter’s cross to retake the lead.
The visitors equalised with 15 minutes to go but Nick Lloyd drove home from just inside the box to win it with 5 minutes to go.
The UNDER 12’s SUNDAY team took a trip to Basingstoke to play Berg Youth.
Clarendon took command of the game early on keeping possession well but couldn't quite find the killer pass needed to unlock the Berg defence.
Sam Harris, Theo McDonald and Oliver Davies managed to keep any counter attacks under control as the rest of the team kept pushing for the opener.
Tom Latter as always was a threat and as the Berg began to get frustrated he won a free kick just on the edge of the box.
Charlie Green looped the ball over the wall only to be denied by the bar, however Latter was quickest to react for a tap in for a half time lead.
Latter played the second half in goal replacing the impressive Zach Andrews between the sticks.
Clarendon started strong again and their dominace payed off early when Teddy Robinson released a well-weighted ball through to Green who linked on to his left foot to beat the keeper.
Green then turned provider again breaking clear this time he squared to Andrews who finished neatly with his right foot.
Max Le Page almost got amongst the goals but his shot clipped the bar in what would have been a superb team goal.
Green grabbed his second just before the final whistle avoiding a dangerous challenge from a defender and then drilling high past a helpless keeper.
Le page had one last chance but the Berg keeper saved well.
A 4-0 win for Clarendon who continue their unbeaten start to the season.
The UNDER 9’s GREENS were back in action after the half term break as they hosted Downton, with Lilly Davies resuming usual business for the team when her shot from edge of box took a deflection on its way in.
Nellie Robinson received on the right shortly after to place across keeper and some good work between her and Elsie Tinne allowed Zoe Selbie to smash in the teams third at the back post.
Mia Roche added a quick double when she intercepted at edge of box and her second after a short run on the right firing across goal.
Chloe Howle showed some great composure and skill throughout, and also had her name on the scoresheet in the first with a very good effort.
After good work down the left from Mia Roche, the ball wasn’t cleared and Robinson was there to finish the move off, and soon after completed a hat trick.
Maisie Hopkins and Quinn Armstrong were both battling extremely well in midfield and were up and down the pitch all game, both playing exceptionally well.
It was a result of their hard work that allowed Harbour Bolger to break free to beat the keeper to the ball to add her name to the score sheet.
Bolger had a terrific game, and was absolutely solid when playing in defence which made it a fairly quiet morning to the rotating goalkeepers.
Then came the moment of the match, when Ava Webb scored her first Clarendon goal. She gave it her all, was denied by the post and cross bar, but after an unbelievable Mia Roche corner, Webb was in the middle to fire home her first goal!
Robinson soon added two more to take her tally to five for the morning, followed by Roche who completing yet another hat trick, with Davies sitting a little deeper showcasing her excellent range of passing.
With Elsie Tinne pressing high, it allowed the team to play in the opposition half, and Zoe Selbie added her second in the final minutes. Tinne’s attacking passing and movement didn’t go unnoticed, as she was voted as player of the match by the opposition.
