The third match weekend of the season saw a host of league cup and a first friendly for our girls under 11’s.

The UNDER 18’s REDS maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a strong away display drawing 1-1 draw against Simply Soccer - another unbeaten team in the league.

Despite missing key players Clarendon started strongly and created chances on the break and defended solidly. The game remained goalless until 7 minutes from time when against the run of play Simply Soccer capitalised on a rare Clarendon mistake to open the scoring.

Clarendon showed great resilience keeping their heads up and a stunning Matt Thompson cross field pass in the 87th was met by Charlie Wring who scored his second goal in two games for Clarendon to level.
Clarendon then threw the kitchen sink at Simply Soccer but were unable to get a winner in the three remaining minutes. Another superb team performance across the park as the team enjoy their final season as juniors.

The UNDER 18’s WHITES were brought back to earth with a bump following a lacklustre performance against a battling Porton.

The first half was a tepid affair with very little chances being created. Clarendon resorting to long balls that played straight into Porton's hands. Callum Rollins was called into action on numerous occasions pulling off some fantastic stops in the home goal.

The breakthrough came from a corner which was half cleared but no-one was picking up the player on the edge of the box who rifled home to make it 1-0.

Clarendon started the 2nd half with purpose. Will Pischel started to terrorise the full backs with pacey runs. He soon found Jack Latter who glanced in to make it 1-1.

Clarendon were in the ascendancy but couldnt make it count and Porton quickly scored through a break away and a penalty to lead. 3-1 became 3-2 when Latter was bundled over and Freddie Randall slotted the subsequent penalty home.
That was as good as it got as the team lost shape and energy as they slumped to a 5-2 defeat.

Despite a battling display the UNDER 16’s REDS lost 4-0 at home to division 1 side Thatcham Town Harriers in the first round of the cup.

There was better news for the UNDER 14’s in their cup fixture as they overcame Porton 4-1.

They got off to a great start scoring in the first minute when Jack Pollard opened the scoring, before turning provider for Charlie Orchard to score their second.

Second half goals form Jacob Earle and Charlie Young saw them safely through to the next round.

The UNDER 13’s WHITES secured their first win of the season with a 3-1 win at Braishfield Bees in the league.

Goals from Ben Leeming, Josh Scott and Cecil Lomotey sealed a deserved 3 points.

Both Under 12’s were in cup action.

Despite Jack Haigh’s goal the UNDER 12’s REDS were knocked out by AFC Totton.

The UNDER 12’s WHITES did progress as they
hosted South Newton & Barford Hornets.

A bright start by the whites with some fluent passing culminated in a fine run by Milo Culley who cut in to find strike partner Harry O’Donnell to net his first of the game.

The whites continued to dominate however it was the Hornets who equalised against the run of play after some hesitant defending.

The whites continued to dominate possession however their opponents were always a threat on the break. More pressure on the hornets goal resulted in a corner for the Whites and captain O’Donnell’s pin-point corner was met with a fine header from Jack Street to put the whites back in front.

Another fine move from the whites led to a lovely dribble from Thomas Woodhouse-Smith finishing off by cutting the ball back to O’Donnell who finished in usual style.

The whites continued to pile the pressure on and should have extended their lead but for some wayward finishing and last ditch defending from the hornets. With half time approaching the hornets got back into the game with an outstanding strike from fully 20 yards which almost took the back of the net off its posts!
The second half continued in the same vein and this time the whites found their finishing touch and quickly scored again thanks to Olly Harris’s deflected shot.

More fine work from MoM Jack Street, now playing in a more advanced position, led to an assist to Harry Moody who calmly slotted home to put the game out of reach for the Hornets, who never gave up.
With the whites now purring and playing their best football for some time, Jack Street finished the game off with 2 blistering shots from outside of the box to cap off a fine performance and take the whites into round 2.

The UNDER 11s REDS hosted Amesbury Hurricanes in the first round of the cup and produced a really good performance against a strong side.

Rory Bruce-Ball scored while Rhys Denning was player of the match for an intelligent and committed game in defence.

In the league, the UNDER 11’s WHITES hosted a strong Lymington side, who limited the hosts to few chances.

The UNDER 11’s GREENS hosted their first ever match in a friendly with Amesbury.

Zach Andrews scoring twice along with a goal apiece from Charlie Green and Declan Owens which saw the tie settled from a penalty shoot out.

Another game that went to penalties was the UNDER 9’s REDS as they were also at AFC Totton in the cup.

The team had found the going tough in the first half but Alfie Matthews had bought them back in the game pouncing on a rebound.

The second half saw an extremely determined come back with Jake O’Donnell and Henry Golden solid at the back and Marcos da Silva bossing the centre mid spot giving Alfie Matthews licence to get forward on the right which resulted in 2 good finishes for his hatrick.
Marcos Da Silva then got his first goal for Clarendon with a shot from the corner of the box which the keeper couldn’t keep out due to the power.
After further chances the reds couldn’t quite kill off the game and the hosts hit back late on to send the tie to a shootout.

Felix Soket was in fine form in goal throughout the game and took said form into the shootout saving 3 spot kicks.

A solid performance from all the team but Jake O’Donnell just pipped a couple of others for MOM with his excellent composed defending and some superb passing out of defence which led to a few chances for the forward players.

The UNDER 8’s REDS put on their best performance to date with a fine away display at Tidworth Jackals in the cup.

Player of the match Oli Golden grabbed 4 goals with Toby Woodhouse-Smith netting a hatrick.

Henry Bowyer was awarded player of the match on his competitive debut for scoring two and assisting a third as well as great positional awareness.

On Sunday the UNDER 10’s SUNDAY team visited Alderbury Greens in a tight match.

Teddy Robinson was unlucky not to open the scoring when his effort was tipped onto the bar. Luca Barbiere used his incredible pace to fashion another chance but again was thwarted by the keeper.

Hugo Bowyer made his Clarendon debut and put in a good display while Charlie Green scored Clarendon’s goal receiving a long ball from Robinson before beating the defender and then keeper with a powerful finish.

Green almost turned provider twice for Jake O’Donnell with good balls through the lines but was unlucky not to finish on both occasions.
