Clayton fell to consecutive defeats to a strong Drighlington side, but produced a positive display in which they can count themselves unlucky not to have run the visitors even closer than the scoreline suggests. Clayton dominated field position and spells of the encounter for long periods of time, but unfortunately could not convert that into substantial points. The only score came from Brandon Godward who burrowed over from acting half. Drighlington score a last gasp try to add to a late drop goal, which added an unfair lopsided look to the scoreboard and Clayton will take great heart from the encouraging display.
