Ben Andreucci signs!

Ben Andreucci signs!

Tom Summers5 Jul - 07:58

Former Bolton Wanderers striker signs for the Owls.

Former Leeds united youth team and Bolton Wanderers striker Ben Andreucci puts pen to paper and joins the owls.

Ben has an impressive eye for goal and was a sought after signature but manager Craig Rouse managed to secure the striker.

Ben who signed a two year deal at Bolton Wanderers was loaned out and has had successful spells at both Buxton and Darlington. Alongside this Ben has also made appearances for Scotlands under 19s national side.

Owls manager Craig Rouse was thrilled to get this signing over the line, here's what he had to say on Ben-
"After a long pursuit, we're delighted to welcome Ben to the football club.

As soon as we were alerted to his availability after his departure from Bolton Wanderers he was someone we immediately wanted to bring to the football club. He is someone who attracted a lot of interest throughout the summer so we're pleased to win that race and bring him in to an already talented squad.

Having previously worked with Rich whilst on loan at Buxton we are well aware of the qualities he possesses.

As a natural goalscorer he is a player that has consistently scored goals wherever he has been and coupled with his work rate he will be a real asset to the group."

I caught up with Ben for a quick Q&A-

What is it about Cleethorpes town that made you sway towards the club and sign?
The main thing is really the backing of the staff. They've put real faith in me and the club seems to be going in a really positive direction.

You score a lot of goals but what would you say is your best?
One of my best goals came in a hat trick I scored against Sunderland as a scholar for Leeds United.

What would you think is the expectation of the squad this year?
For me, the team had momentum off the back of a positive season last year and its important to keep this run going and hopefully that will lead us to as high up the table as possible.

What would be your career highlight so far, wether it be personal or team achievement?
Career highlight without doubt would be picking up my 7 caps for Scotland or making my debut for Bolton against Wrexham last season.

A big thank you to both Craig and Ben for sparing the time to talk to us.
