Side makes the final of Town Trophy

Cleethorpes Town A went into the game on Saturday looking to bounce back last week's defeat. Clee welcomed Skegness United to the Linden Club on Saturday in the semi final clash.

The game started and the visitors started quickly getting the ball forward but there attacks were being dealt with by the Clee defence in the early stages. Clee begin to settle into the game playing some good football that helped create some good chances and good defending from Skegness as the sides at half time went in at 0-0.

After the break Clee continued to apply the pressure and were soon rewarded as good work from Degruchy on the edge of the box see's the ball falls nicely for him to strike the ball home into the top corner to give Clee the lead. Skegness appeared stunned following the quick start to the 2nd half as Clee started to dominate the game with authority.

Skegness were struggling to get out there own half and the second soon followed as McGrath won the ball in the Skegness half as he played a long diagonal ball into DeGruchy to run onto as he slotted home to make it 2-0 on 70 minutes. The third goal soon followed as Moody slotted home inside the area.

Skegness did rally but a little late to affect the game as Clee progressed to the final, which shows promise as 11 of the 16 players involved being 18 or younger.
