The Gaffer gives us an update on all things Owls

Morning everyone,

Hope you've had a good week and got the new year off to a positive start.

Firstly, it has been a positive week in the camp off the back of a dramatic last minute winner Saturday which was a much needed win. We’re even more delighted that we could dedicate our win to the late Colin Wicks who sadly we lost recently.

Its been a better week on the player front being able to get another week of training into both Josh Venney and Paul Walker on their return.

We also welcome back Dec Howe who has overcome his short bout of flu which is good news. We have had 20 players available for both sessions this week and I’ve been able to give the physio two nights off so she’s been rewarded for getting those lads on the grass and back in the action.

Unfortunately, despite the player availability mentioned above this weekend, 2 players will miss the trip to Long Eaton United due to unavailability. We will be without 2 key players in Will Annan and Jon Oglesby.

We look to build on last weeks result against Tadcaster. Despite the performance levels not being where we wanted them to be it was a character building win and we can take a lot of positives from the game.

So here's where we are this week;

Dec - Recovered and trained Thursday. Back in contention.

Josh Venney - Another positive week under his belt and in contention for Saturday

Walks - Another positive week also and looks in good shape - Available for selection

Jonboy - working away so unavailable Saturday and Tuesday next week

Will Annan - Unavailable Saturday back for Tuesday.

I would like to thank you for your unconditional support, on behalf of all the players and staff. It really lifts the players, in what has been a tough period for the them in recent months. We are still work in progress and we will continue to give it our all and give our supporters a team we can all be proud of.

UTO

Nathan
