It's the excitement of the FA Cup again this weekend and the Owls face the trip to Staffordshire to tackle Kidsgrove Athletic, who defeated Newcastle Town 2-1 in their replay on Tuesday.

Of course, on the same night we had a fruitless journey to Sheffield FC, slipping to our first competitive loss since mid-April by a scoreline of 3-1. No real complaints from the travelling Owls, we just did not quite fire. Nevertheless, 10 points is a good return from a tricky looking first 5 games in the league. If you tag on wins in the FA Cup & Lincolnshire Cup, it has been a very good start to the campaign.

Come 3pm on Saturday and the form-book goes out of the window! It is all about how you perform on the day and we are sure to be fired-up. Manager Dave Smith has not had the best of luck with injuries so far but, hopefully, the strong squad will see us through a tough examination.

We have played Kidsgrove twice before, enjoying a double over them in the NPL South in season 2017/18. It finished 1-0 on Hollinwood Road just after Christmas, with Brody Robertson grabbing the crucial goal.

In fairness, the Grove have not had the best of starts in the NPL this time around, sitting 16th in the division with 3 points from 4 outings. Their confidence is going to be high though following the away triumph in the Cup.

Thanks to our fans who travelled to Sheffield and we hope to see you there at Kidsgrove. Final few places available on our executive coach, leaving Linden at half 10 and ONLY £10!
