This afternoon the Owls have signed EX Crewe Alexander and Grimsby Town player Callum Ainley having become a free agent in the summer.

Ainley ( 27 ) has already clocked over 300 EFL appearances scoring 17 goals, featuring 26 times for the Mariners last season

His CV speaks for itself from both an ability and loyalty stand point and as soon as we were alerted to his availability it was something we were keen to pursue and we are pleased to finally get it over the line.

He has proven he can deliver the bits of quality and end product at the top end of the pitch that every team craves and hopefully we get to see plenty of instances of that in a Cleethorpes Town shirt moving forward.

He is comfortable operating centrally or on either side of the pitch in attacking areas and will help provide the link between defence and attack.
