Our first fixture of 2024 takes us on the relatively short trip to West Yorkshire, where we face Pontefract Collieries.
It is certain to be a tricky test, with the Colls riding high in 3rd place in the East Division.
No question that the Owls have endured a period of frustration, with results going against the side over recent times. However, the new year brings a fresh sense of optimism!
Everyone is working very hard to be in tip-top shape for the weekend.
Joint-Managers Tim Lowe & Liam Dickens offered their thoughts:
"We travel to 3rd place Pontefract on Saturday with a point to prove and determined to get back to winning ways. The reverse fixture earlier this season ended in a narrow 1-0 defeat in a very tight game.
There is currently a number of injuries and suspensions to contend with but we are confident we still have enough ability in the squad to go there and get a positive result.
The lads have trained hard over the past week and are keen to get back playing games after a number of postponements due to the adverse weather.
We have a lot of games scheduled in January, so we will be aiming to build some momentum going into the second half of the season.

Secretary David Simpson commented:
"With all the rain, it has been a very stop-start period, which I believe has not been to our benefit.
Nevertheless, we are not even halfway through out League campaign yet. 63 points to play for and, with 7 out of the next 8 at the Myenergi after Saturday, one win could be the beginning of a surge up the table.
Hope you can make it to cheer the lads on!"
