Cleethorpes Town welcomed Teversal to the Bradley Community Stadium on Wednesday evening despite the downpours in the prevailing couple of hours before the pitch was in a good condition and a healthy crowd of 109 came to see what turned out to be an entertaining game that was end to end goal mouth action.
With an unchanged starting line Cleethorpes though soon found themselves under some pressure as a cross from James Meachan saw a cross evade Scott Drury in the Cleethorpes goal and to the goalkeepers relief the ball went wide, Drury was in action again saving well from a shot William Harcourt. Cleethorpes were forced into an early change as Lee Stephenson was forced off injured and replaced by Jason Flint. It was Clear Cleethorpes where in for a game against a bright Teversal side who where brimming with confidence.
It was Flint who broke the deadlock where his run from deep he was able to collect the ball in the area unmarked as he controlled the ball he slotted the ball past Daniel Herring to give Cleethorpes a valuable lead. Drury was soon in action again as he produced a fine low save from Eli Mitchell inside the area, then an effort from Meachan went into the side netting. At the other end an effort from Alex Flett went wide. Teversal then levelled the scores as Richard Peck brought down David Cockerill in the area Referee Martin Chester had no hesitation in pointing to the spot and it was Cockerill who stepped up to send the ball past Drury.
Cleethorpes then saw shot from Daniel Freeman go wide following a knock down from Marc Cooper, Barrett saw a long range effort well saved around the post for a corner. The resultant corner saw Philip Cawley head wide at the far post, the closing stages of the first half saw 2 efforts from Marc Cooper go wide as Cleethorpes tried to restore their Lead.
The second half saw marc Cooper shot saved by Herring inside the area, Teversal saw shots from Atkins, Meachan blocked in the area as Cockerill saw his effort well saved in the box by Drury. Oglesby following a rundown wing cut into the box and saw his effort blocked, from the other flank a cross from Lowe teased the Teversal back line but no one could connect as the ball flashed across the six yard area. In the Cleethorpes box Cockerill failed to capitalise as Barrett miscued in the area. Late efforts from Darren Hanslip for Cleethorpes and Daniel Wood for Teversal where blocked before the full time whistle.
