On a very hot afternoon a much changed Clevedon side travelled into Midsommer Norton. League leaders Norton started strongly with their big forwards making in roads and were soon on the score sheet with a catch and drive. The seasiders who had a number of fledgling debutants were led by skipper for the day, 19 year old Charles Tucker battled their way into the game, scrum time and the breakdown, proved a testing time against their heavier counterparts, however the lineout allowed them opportunities to make in roads only to be denied by failure to look after the ball. Half time saw Clevedon 27 - nil down and playing up the slope and when Norton scored twice in quick succession heads could have gone down, but this didn't happen Clevedon hit back when a fine passage of play saw debutant Kane Gibson score a fine try. This was quickly followed with a try from the veteran Tom Thie. Norton then replied with 2 scores of their own, the last word went to Clevedon when Mason Parslow powered over for a converted try.
Head coach Nick Hill commented 'It was always going to be a difficult ask with unavailability's and last minute injuries, that said the youngsters stepped up with Kane Gibson and Charles Tucker outstanding'.
