Away to Nailsea and Backwell

The team are evolving at a great speed. The first half Clevedon were pretty much camped out on and inside N&B’s 22M line. Our forwards not giving them any time on the ball, totalling dominating scums and rucks. The hard graft winning the battles being conducted by Hamish, Harry, Ollie, Charlie B and Felix. The pick up and go making ground was formidable, allowing the backs to play the ball and get it to the two wingers, both Charlie A and Callum. Each running in tries throughout the game, Charlie grabbing two and Callum an outstanding 7. His tries predominantly only coming from the hard work the team won from the rucking and mauling and then running it through the back line.
Individually his running at times incredible, even once catching the ball from the restart and running 3/4’s of the pitch to make a try.
There were some outstanding individual performances across the board, from all the hard work the forwards put in to the great running of the back line.
Our full back Charlie H had a few incredible runs grabbing a couple of tries as did Frank who changed positions and played inside centre today.
Louis’s snake hip run in the second half was fantastic, weaving in and out, setting himself up for a try between the posts with one more dummy. But instead decided to run and snake across to the far corner 3M out and eventually after being tackled, Frank picking up and scoring. Some would say, selflessness but being relatively knew to the team, he just wanted to show us what he had in his locker.
Sol’s jackleing and counter rucking in the second half allowing the team to set up again was a credit to the team.
There were too many great moments to mention all or performances from everyone who deserve a mention.
However, as a match and team going forward. We coaches are so proud of how far they have come and continue to develop each week.
As I’m sure the parents are watching on the side line some wonderful rugby being played by our boys.
Special mentions are quick this week as the entire team deserved their victory today.
Forwards nominated Frank for their man of the match for being adaptable and able to play both in the pack and the backs and able to put a great shift in.
Backs nominated Ollie W for their man of the match. One of the unsung heroes in the forward line putting in massive hits time and time again. Allowing the team to set up a play again.
Coaches man of the match was very difficult and we all thought could have gone to a number of players. But after scoring 7 tries it could only be one player and that was Callum.
One final point which I think summed up the days team performance and the selfishness how they play for each other was from Charlie B in the after game debrief.
Matt and Dan drilled the forwards this morning before the game with the pick up and go from rucks and breakdowns, which they performed superbly.
It was mentioned in the debrief and especially the last try, where the recycling with the pick up and go occurred over and over again making some 25M. Charlie was sub at the time and just his smile, enthusiasm and excitement saying that was such a sweet move says it all.
Well played boys....!
