The Seasiders are due to make their longest journey of the season on Saturday to Helston Athletic, but yet again supporters will need to keep an eye on the weather forecast and the club’s social media outlets for updates.
The teams have only ever met 7 times; Helston having won 3 times, Clevedon twice with 2 draws. Until this season’s 3-1 win back in November courtesy of Sam Beresford’s hat-trick Clevedon had a poor record against Helston and had never scored more than once against them in the previous games.
Clevedon will meet a much-changed Blues side from those earlier encounters, and they currently sit in mid table with 10 wins and 11 defeats.
Since that 3-1 defeat at the MoneyMates Hand Stadium, Helston have lost 3 of their last 6 games including conceding 5 in successive defeats against Torpoint and Newquay and due to the weather, they have not played for 3 weeks since a 2-1 home win over Saltash.
Equally top of the table Clevedon have stuttered in January and other than the hammering of winless AFC St Austell have lost 2 and drawn 1.
The Seasiders away coach will making a necessarily early start from the MoneyMates Hand Stadium at 8:30 am and there are plenty of seats available for supporters for £15 or £10 for Friends of Clevedon Town members.
We will be playing in the yellow and black away kit.
