Solid start for Somerset in 65s Summer League at Hutton Moor 29th May

Rich Orr30 May - 18:36

Results: Oxfordshire 2-0; Wiltshire 0-0; Devon 3-0 = 7 pts

A good start at Hutton Moor yesterday by the Somerset 65s in the County Summer Walking Football League. Somerset, managed by Clevedon Town’s Pete Condon and including Seasiders Nigel Clarke (g/k) and Mark Steadman in yesterday’s squad, came away unbeaten from their 3 games without conceding a goal.

Somerset started with a 2-0 win against Oxfordshire, drew 0-0 with Wiltshire and finally beat Devon 3-0. Reflecting on the opening round Pete Condon said ‘We welcomed a few new players to the squad for the first round of the summer league and overall we put up three solid performances . We looked positive going forward and some excellent goalkeeping against Wilts & Devon meant we kept three clean sheets.’

Well done to the whole squad, pictured, and also to our own John Hughes, Tony Munden and John Skinner all busy on refereeing duties.
