14 Sep 1981 Clifton All Whites 0 Clipstone MW Reserves 2

Injury jinx struck again after only 5 minutes when left back Gary Beastall was injured.
It meant that front man Brian Price had to move into the defence with substitute Roland Bennett up front.
Welfare had a poor first half and received a verbal bashing from manager Alan Watkins at half time.
It had the desired effect for the visitors came out in more defiant mood and substitute Bennett put them in front with Dennis Price adding a second.

26th Sep 1981 Welbeck Colliery 5 Clifton All whites 2 (Intermediate Cup)

Clifton provided an early shock when they scored after only 5 minutes.
But Welbeck hit back with goals from Pete Vernon, Mick Butler and Rob Vernon. Then a sloppy defensive error let in Clifton for a second goal just before the break.

Butler made it 4-2 in the second half then George Major brilliantly saved a penalty at a vital stage of the game. Rob Vernon wrapped the game up with a fifth just before the finish.

Dennis Woodhall who had been appointed assistant manager in midweek, found himself in sole charge at the weekend after manager Alan Watkins had been admitted to the hospital.
Welfare looked well set to complete the double over the visitors when Simpson sent them in at the break a goal to the good.
However Clifton broke away late into the game to snatch an equaliser and a point they scarcely deserved.

Colliery’s Graham Harrod had a lob kicked off the line and Jayes headed over the bar.
After five minutes of the second half, Ernie Ironmonger in the Colliery’s goal made a great save from K Priestley. 13 Nov 1981 Bulwell Forest Villa 0 Clifton All Whites 1

A 75th minute goal clinched the issue when Bulwell Forest Villa lost at home to a well organised Clifton All Whites in the Notts Alliance (Division 1) game
Villa opened strongly and scored what looked a good goal after seven minutes, only for the referee to blw for offside. This setback seemed to affect Villa’s midfield, and All Whites, seeming quicker on the ball, took control.
Villa pressed in the second half but could not find the net. After All Whiteshad snatched the lead, Villa threw everything into the attack but could not put away the few chances they got.
The result was a blow to Villa’s high hopes of honours this season.

31 Jan 1982 Clifton All Whites 2 Rainworth MW Res 3

Playing in ankle deep mud with the added hazard of a crosswind, Rainworth soon settled down to play some good football and went into the lead when Graham headed through from Osbournes cross.

The visitors then relaxed allowing Cliftons midfield to dominate and it came to no surprise when Wilson ran through to equalise.
Rainworth hit back quickly for Eaton to restore their lead and went on to score a third following an excellent run from Graham.
Although Rainworth appeared to relax yet again they did not concede another goal until the final minute when Penhale scored but Rainworth kept their top spot in the league.

Rainworth had only themselves to blame for this defeat for of all the chances they created their only score came from a goalkeeping error early in the second half.
The first half was quite even with the young Clifton side playing well but failing to beat the offside trap.
The visitors went into the lead after 47 minutes when Marshall rounded the goalkeeper to score.
Two minutes later Williams scored Cliftons second goal. After 60 minutes Shaw pulled one back for Rainworth

13 Mar 1982 Clifton All Whites 2 Hucknall Colliery Welfare Res 2

Hucknall Colliery Welfare Reserves shared the spoils in an end to end Notts Alliance Division One encounter with Clifton All Whites.
Colliery went ahead in the 10th minute with a stunning 30 yard free kick from Steve Borucki, bending round the All Whites wall. Saves came at both ends with Colliery’s Dean Lowe thwarting Duffy and Chris Oakes seeing a shot brilliantly tipped round the post by the visiting keeper. Ken Belfield headed over from the resulting corner.
However it was a mistake by Lowe that led to All Whites equaliser 10 minutes before half time. He dropped a cross from the right and Foster pounced to shoot the ball home.
Five minutes after half time and Colliery were back in front. Eddie ‘O’ Dwyer fed Oakes down the left flank and after beating two men he crossed for Graham Bromley to hit home. Jim Holgate and Brian Newcome both went close to sealing the points but the visitors hit back with a second equaliser on 65 minutes when a shot from Penhale on the right wing sailed over Lowes head
