Clock Face Miners NCL side got back to winning ways with a fine 38-24 home win against Dewsbury Moor Maroons.
Clock were first to score when, man of the match, Jack Highcock broke through the Dewsbury defence to score under the sticks. Dewsbury hit back when their second row barged over from close range. However, Clock edged back in front when the ball went to the blind side to Shaun Costello who scored out wide. Dewsbury hit back again but, a lovely long ball by Highcock found Jimmy Jones on the wing who dived over for the try to give Clock a 16-12 half time lead.
Clock extended their lead just one minute into the second half when Costello made a midfield break, drew the full back and passed to the supporting Lewis Geraghty who scooted in for the try. Dewsbury reduced the difference to four points with a try however, Clock extended their score when Luke Forber dived over from close range. The killer punch came in the final quarter when a fine passing move released Jones to score his second try. Dewsbury pulled a try back but, the game was sealed when Callum Topping thew a dummy and ghosted through the Dewsbury defence to score with a minute remaining.
Highcock amassed an impressive fourteen points with a try and five from seven conversions.
Clock Face head over to Yorkshire on Saturday to face Bradford Dudley Hill.
