Clumber Storm send out Thunder and Lightening in great afternoon of cricket.

The Storm sent out their "Thunder" & "Lightening" Teams at the park today with both teams registering their first outdoor Women and Girls successes.

The format today was 8 per side 12 over pairs softball cricket, women and girls cricket is flexible and allows for participation and enjoyment for everyone.

Thunder 265 - 1 beat Blyth 255 -1

Louise Page led a young team to success in a close game, with the Thunder running out worthy winners against a young Blyth side with lots of potential. The storm fielded mostly U15 in the game and were rewarded for their efforts in fielding, batting and bowling. Both teams showed a lot of promise with good bowling performances from Eadie and Louise, batting honours went to Isabel and Louise with a partnership of 26 from their 3 overs.

Most Valuable player - Louise Page

Lightening 279 -1 beat Blyth 238 - 6

Maxine led a strong Lightening team who led from the front with a strong batting performance, Becky and Lindsey(25) Cheryl and Marisa (25) Maxine and Lisa (19) Lynn and Lucy (15). This set the stage for an outstanding fielding display as Lisa marshalled the outfield to create chances and take catches. Bowling honours went to Becky who took 2 wickets, with Cheryl, Maxine, Anya & Lindsey picking up one each.

Most Valuable Player - Becky Law (Thanks to Katie for being a runner)

Special thanks to scorers, umpires and anyone who makes these matches possible.

Thanks to Blyth who were very sporting and enjoyed the day.

A great day for the Storm and even better for Women and Girls Softball Cricket
