Clumber Storm will host the Yorkshire Terriers at the Park on Sunday 5th May in their first competitive match outdoors. The visitors have an experienced S9 Softball cricket team and will be a good test to show the progress of the Storm. The game will be 30 overs for each team and will encourage fun and participation.
The Storm will be led by Maxine Paintain who has took on the captaincy and helped us build out the newly created section for the club during last summer and this winter. The team will look to compete and are their main strength is probably in their batting. Players to watch for the Storm, all of them, they all bring something and have match winning performance capability.
Yorkshire come with a young squad with a mix of experienced and players on debut. A player to watch for is William Baxter, who represents England in track and field in his disability category. Will is an inspiration to all who have seen him grow into a good cricketer overcoming his impairment to compete. Watch out for Lucy Taylor who will represent Yorkshire Terriers Disability team and will be playing for the Storm in 2019 when she has no county commitment.
Come along, bring your family and friends and watch something new and exciting on Sunday afternoon in the picturesque setting of Clumber Park.
