Clutton first team lost 2-1 at champions Chilcompton on a very muddy pitch. A very even match was narrowly taken from us. We had plenty of possession but on the half hour the home team were given a penalty after a foul in the box. The spot kick was dispatched, although within ten minutes we were level a surging run by Kyle Buffery and a great shot was saved but Rich Krug was on hand to knock in the rebound. Another great run by Matt Le Corre ended with his shot going narrowly wide. The second half was an even to and fro affair, but with 11 minutes left a corner was headed in by the home team to give them the points. A setback in a game we deserved something from.
The Reserves too a 2-0 lead at Purnells in the Paulton Hospital Cup but were roundly beaten 8-3, 'nuff said! This Saturday the Reserves are home v Wells City A, the first team at Stockwood Green both at 2.00pm.
