Coalville Town 2-0 Biggleswade Town
Second half goals from Kairo Mitchelll and Tom McGlinchey gave Coalville a deserved victory at The Mander Cruickshank Solicitors Stadium

The visitors made the better start with Jordan Gent having the first opportunity but his volleyed effort was well over bar. Matt Ball’s cross was then headed down by Dylan Williams towards Joe White but Keiran Fenton managed to get in before White, the ball then rolled towards the Coalville goal line but Scott McManus got back before the arriving Jonny McNamara to clear the ball away.
Coalville’s first chance of the game came moments later, Kairo Mitchell was found on the right wing by Luke Shaw, the forward advanced down the wing before whipping the ball across the box to his strike partner Tim Berridge whose first time effort was held comfortably by Sam Donkin. On the opposite flank Tom McGlinchey then picked out the arriving Luke Shaw but his shot was again held by Donkin.
The Waders were next to come close, Matt Ball picked out a clever Crossfield pass to Jonny McNamara who was in space, the winger hit a powerful first time effort across the box just evading Dylan Williams. McNamara was again involved and called Richard Walton into action for the first time when he shot from just outside of the area Walton was able to hold the ball comfortably.
After the initial spell of pressure from Biggleswade Coalville were now starting to take control, Tim Berridge then came close with a great volley which canoed back off the cross bar after Andrew Wright’s corner was met by Luke Shaw, the ball fell to Berridge who hit a powerful left footed effort against the bar. The visitors were forced into a change as David Longe-King picked up an injury after blocking a shot from Tom McGlinchey and was replaced by Lucas Perry.

The Ravens had an early chance in the second half, Luke Shaw disposed Lucas Perry and broke forward before playing in Kairo Mitchell who skipped past Jack Bradshaw but fired way over the bar on his left foot. Mitchell was not to be denied as moments later he would put the hosts in front. Scott McManus’s cross was flicked on by Berridge to Mitchell who turned onto his right foot and fired into the roof of net past Donkin.
10 minutes later Coalville would double their lead with a contender for goal of the season. Tom McGlinchey picked the ball up just inside the Biggleswade half and ran past two Biggleswade defenders before unleashing a 25 yard effort that flew into the top corner.
Biggleswade pushed forward to try and get back in the game, Keiron Forbes played an excellent ball over the top which split the Coalville defence, Joe White ran onto the ball and tried to head over Walton but Walton managed to get fingertips to the ball which allowed Scott McManus to get behind and make a magnificent goal line clearance under huge pressure from Joe White & Peter Clarke.
This would be the last chance of the game with the Coalville defence standing resolute to earn an important 3 points and a clean sheet.
