Ladies battle against the wind to secure the win.

The game was played in blustery conditions, with the wind making play difficult for both teams. The wind was blowing down the hill.
Coalville elected to kick up the hill in the first half, against the wind. Looking to capitalise on Allexton only having 9 players and working on them tiring in the second half.
As expected Allexton used the wind to gain possession deep in the Coalville half. Coalville were told before the game to keep the ball on the floor when in possession as kicking it in the air wouldn’t get very far. When in possession, they were also told to maintain possession and play quickly.
Allexton, as expected had a couple of half chances, however, the defence held firm, covering each other with great support from the tireless midfielders. Allexton hit the bar with a rasping drive from outside the box, this being their only real shot on goal.
Coalville scored on 7 minutes from a great team goal. The ball was worked down the right for Folkard to score a great goal from out wide.
Coalville were working hard and playing good football. Using the widths to get behind the full backs, Coalville were creating chances and could have scored more in the first half. A little more composure was required when in possession, as the ball was given away when the ball was kicked out of play, when a simple pass was all that was needed.
Going into half time 1-0 was a very good performance from the ladies, allowing the ladies to play the second half with confidence.
Coalville dominated the second half hitting the woodwork on numerous occasions and the Allexton keeper making some great saves to deny Coalville.
The second goal was inevitable and in the 12th minute of the second half Dolman scored with a low drive into the corner. This coming within minutes of her coming on as substitute.
A further 20 minutes passed before Dolman got her second and Coalville’s third. Cleverly using the wind to score from an angle over the head of the Allexton keeper.
Allexton’s attack had been stifled by the Coalville defence who were working well together, ably supported by the midfielders who were showing their class throughout the game.
Allexton pulled a consolation goal back in bizarre fashion. Their centre forward shot past the onrushing keeper, who did enough to ensure she didn’t get enough power. Simons did well to get back to stop the ball going over the line. On her second touch Simons attempted to clear the ball, hit the ball into the onrushing forward only to see the ball rebound into goal.
Coalville went on the attack for the duration of the game, however, could not score any more. Credit to Allexton who worked hard and contributed to a good game even though they only had 9 players.
Despite the conditions, Coalville played extremely well, learning to play through the thirds and with pace.
