Coalville Town Ladies 16-0 Oakham United
Coalville Town Ladies entertained Oakham United Ladies at the Mander Cruickshank Solicitors Stadium on Sunday afternoon, in their opening Leicestershire Women's Senior League game of the 2019/20 season.
Pre-season preparations have been good for the Ravenettes, despite a heavy FA Cup preliminary round defeat last weekend against East Midlands Regional Division One North title-favourites Hykeham Town.
It was important for both sides to get off to a good start to their respective campaigns, but it was the home side that raced into a three goal lead within the first 10 minutes. Coalville won a free kick on the right and Clair Dolman curled the ball over the Oakham keeper for the opener. Three minutes later, Siobhan Mullen scrambled the ball over the line from close in and then skipper Natalie Jackson fired home from 22yards.
Continued Coalville pressure resulted in another goal for Dolman on 17 minutes, and then Emma Smith slotted home a penalty given for hand ball. Dolman followed up her own shot from 12 yards to make it 6-0 on 21 minutes, before Courtney Folkard netted two in quick succession - the first a shot following Rachel Coote's corner and the second after charging down a back pass.
Half-time : Coalville Town 8-0 Oakham United
The home side commenced the second half as they had finished the first. Substitute Ella Whitby fired home on 50 minutes to make it nine, and then Mullen finished off Lizzy Jackson's cross for the 10th two minutes later. Nat Jackson followed up Clair Dolman's shot for number 11, and Siobhan Mullen then notched her hat-trick goal on 64 minutes.
Three minutes later, Dolman scored following good work by Mullen and Ella Whitby, and then Dolman grabbed another from the edge of the penalty area on 76 minutes. A great cross from right back Ashleigh Simons found Dolman's head for number 15 and then Dolman notched her 7th goal with another header on 81 minutes.
Final score : Coalville Town 16-0 Oakham Untd
