Cobham Football Club are now searching for a new First Team Manager following Ken Reed's decision to step down and move to new challenging roles.

First Team Manager Ken Reed has decided that it is now time to step down from his role as Head Coach of Cobham Football Club. Everyone at the club would like to thank Ken for his all his hard work, dedication and tireless effort that he has put in over the years as Head Coach while juggling many other roles at the club. In the last year he has been running the club virtually on his own without him the club would have no doubt gone under. Ken will remain at the club on the general committee.

Cobham Football Club is inviting applicants to the job of first team manager and ALL applicants must send a CV to steve@hegstrordinary.co.uk by no later the 14th June. The interview process will begin shortly.

Cobham has survived through the years with hopers, dreamers and funders with no quite clear structure of how the vision of football will go forward. This was down to dedicated, hard working individuals of who are still at the club, of which I would personally like to thank everyone’s efforts without individually naming names for all the hard work that has been put in over the past 24months. I Steve Hegarty have decided to bring both parties in as there would appear to be small minor differences between individuals within our club. I am hoping by coming in that we can face new challenges, drive more sales and have a vision of where we need to go in the next 24 months. The vision can only be succeeded with the current teams and enhancing them and all working and pulling together. Since our first heated meeting we have had a second meeting only involving 14 of the key people that are currently involved in helping at the club and running the club. I believe by having that second meeting we have cleared the air and possibly two new options of moving forward with the club. Those options are as follows: Option 1, Cobham stays as it is, it forms a 14 man committee of which below there are vacancies, should you wish to apply to them please contact me PRIOR to the 14th June 2010.

Chairman - Shaun Russell (Applicant)
Treasurer - Ray Murphy (Applicant), Eric Strange (Applicant)
General Secretary - Ken Reed (Applicant)

Minutes Secretary - Natasha King
Match Secretary - Peter Knight
Commercial Director - Steve Hegarty
Club Steward/Bar Steward - Sam Palmer, Tracey Rideout, Callum Rumble
Players Representive -
Girl's Representative -
Social Secretary - Dan Reeves

As you can see some of the vacancy have volunteers in them. The more in them the better it is and we can drive our self forward. If we stay as a club there are really massive, important things we need to achieve and work smarter rather than harder. These points that I wish to cover are more volunteers to help come in and re-paint the buildings, smarten up the outside areas, chase and drive, sponsorship, bring back that old camaraderie and create that electrifying atmosphere that always seemed to be generated by Cobham's number 1 fan Tracey Rideout.

We intend to talk about a commercial venture with everyone at the AGM on June 14th, it is really important that everyone turns up including mums and dads so they can see where we are going with the club, why we are doing this and the resources it takes to do it. Non-Members will not be allowed to vote on the AGM however after the AGM they will be able to ask questions about current proposals and moving the club forward.

We are openly going to talk about the 'Cobshott' options so everyone understands the benefits of both proposals of which there are some great benefits to the club by going either way. I hope people in the club realise and understand how much effort Ken Reed has put into that club over last 24 months and longer. The club had a debt and still does continue to have small debt which is manageable through certain processes that we will discuss openly at the AGM. The committee has some amazing ideas but needs help to implement these. One of the biggest things that we are going to move forward is to go for FA Charter status which will mean that we will be able to apply for loans, grants etc. Shaun Russell has started to head this up already. This is not just a 5 minute process and could take up to 6 months before we see revenue come in from this. Shaun has a massive experience in dealing with this and well let everyone know the processes at the AGM. In regard to the proposal from Oxshott Royals we have recommended that we have a cooling off period for 60 days which we have asked Eric Strange to communicate with Oxshott Royals to come back to us with some more financial question i.e. where the money is coming from the build that stadium and general housekeeping questions. Once this is in place we will be able to make a decision of which way we will go either staying as Cobham Football Club or going on a joint venture with Oxshott Royals while still retaining our title of Cobham Football Club.

We have 3 main priorities that we need to concentrate on in the next couple of months: Appointment of a First Team Manager, New Sponsorship and start the new era with a fresh outlook. Please come and support us on 14th June at 7.30PM.
