Cockermouth Titans joins the Thunder family of community clubs

We are delighted to announce that Cockermouth Titans has official been accepted as a member of Newcastle Thunder club connections.

Newcastle Thunder are the only professional rugby league team in the North East and are working in conjunction with Newcastle Falcons in developing both games in the North of England. They share facilities with Newcastle Falcons, having their home ground at Kingston Park, have been adjudged to have an 'outstanding' community development scheme and run an U16 and U19 Academy that plays in the Super League.

Benefits to the club include:

  • Reduced price tickets to all games
  • Priority access to coach development programmes
  • Priority access to youth and adult player development sessions
  • Coaching and development visits from the coaching staff and members of the first team to Cockermouth
  • Priority invites to very popular youth player festivals
  • Scouting opportunities to gain a spot in their Academy structure.

This is a fantastic opportunity for every member of the club, young and old to benefit from the professionalism of this up-and-coming club using some of the best rugby facilities in Europe.

Already we have seen one Cockermouth player, Luke Broster sign for their U19 Academy and two younger players from the U16 squad go along to twice weekly training sessions at Kingston Park and play matches against other Academy teams.

Watch the website and Facebook groups for events and opportunities, though if you would like more info, please contact our Newcastle Thunder Liaison Officer, Kathryn Reed on 07974 587 048
