NEWFL Structure Confirmed

Adam Taylor3 Jul 2025 - 11:27

The North East Wales Football League structure has been confirmed for the 2025/26 season.

The league has undergone a complete revamp with the introduction of a three division system.

Last season the league comprised of a Premier Division (Tier 4) and Championship Division (Tier 5), whereas this year there will be Division 1 (Tier 4), 2 (Tier 5) and 3 (Tier 6).

Coedpoeth will play host to three new teams this season; Chirk AAA, who were relegated from tier 3 last season, Broughton United, last seasons Championship Division winners, and Rhydymwyn, who also rise up from the last term’s Championship.

The new-look Reserve League will involve two divisions – Division 1 and 2.

Our reserve side will participate in Division 2, alongside new teams Broughton United, Holywell United and CPD Sychdyn United, who have all added a second team for the 25/26 season.

Fixtures for the new season are still to be announced.
