The weather was only fit for ducks with persistent rain falling
through the match which meant the ball skidded off the pitch at a fast
pace. Still Collingham opened brightly and some fine and enterprising
football put the visitors under pressure.
It came as no surprise therefore that the hope superiority told and a
lightning move from the back through the middle set the strong and
mobile Morrison away to square for Richardson to tap home
Fixter then had the visiting keeper struggling to punch a fierce effort away.
Not until 24 minutes did the visitors have their first shot forcing
Walters to make a low save
From the clearance Morrison streaked beyond the defence to draw the
keeper to make it 2-0
Four minutes a failure to pick up at the far post from a free kick
allowed Westley to pull one back with a free header
Collingham were now being outplayed and Walters did well to puch a
fierce drive away and then the big centre forward narrowly headed wide
Walters came to the rescue again when he produced an outstanding palm
over the bar from a shot that look a goal all the way
H/T 2-1
After the restart S Josephs were still looking dangerous and
Collingham were not getting a look in
However Richardson produced a fine save from the keeper as did
Morrison from close range. The visiting keeper made a third
outstanding save from Richardson
before Walters produced a superb low save
Unfortunately a clear offside decision went unnoticed and Westley
stooped low to equalise
The home side rang the changes and it seemed to work as the visiting
keeper made another fine save
Morrison slipped at the last moment when he would have otherwise scored
With the clock ticking down Morrison had a free header but again the
keeper beat the effort away
Just on 90 minutes Walters made a great save when the shot had "goal"
written all over it and in the dying seconds Walters made a further
super save to deny the St Josephs all the points
