Defeat but not without a fight.

On what was truly the coldest morning of the season we started with a 2-minute silence in respect of “Remembrance”.

First half
The game got off to a great start with an excellent goal scored by Evie despite the whistle having been blown for offside! This coincided with an attempt on goal from the opposition which produced a very “brave save” from our Lizzy. Attacks came from all angles. Some fabulous work from Megan in defence, followed by another attempt on goal from Evie. Despite our attempts to own the ball, Rushmoor seemed to have the advantage and another goal was saved by Lizzy.

The ball just wasn’t in our favour as Evie scored another goal whilst the referee blew the whistle for offside. The opponents scored a goal 1-0. Not to be defeated, Tegan had a chance on goal and unfortunately fell on the wet ground causing her to miss. Evie once again followed suit and a great goal attempt was saved. Rushmoor score again 2-0.

2nd half
The girls came back much more positive and some fantastic play shown following their half-time chat. We chased balls and didn’t give up. Rushmoor were given a free kick and luckily didn’t score. We had another goal attempt from Rosie, again unluckily missed. The second half had much more action down our end. Excellent play down the line. Our day wasn’t today when Rushmoor scored their third goal. Girls didn’t give up and fought to the end. Excellent play all round. Final score 3-0 to Rushmoor.
