Colony couldn’t find that final touch to take the victory today, chances missed and a blatant penalty not being given for a pull back on Strachan as the game head towards full time.
One lapse of concentration and communication in the defence early on put Banchory 1-0 up with their first attack. This came against the run of play and credit to Colony, it didn’t affect them. They continued to control the game playing some great football, and this came good when a great move ended up at Conor Killoh’s feet 20 yards out. His first touch was out his feet and he fired a left footed shot from range across the goal into the bottom corner. This deservedly put Colony back on level terms.
HT 1-1
The second half continued in the same pattern as the first with Colony controlling proceedings. Notable chances for Clelland, Byres and McKeown still couldn’t put Colony into the lead. Late onin the game, Strachan went past his opponent on the left side of the box and looked ready to lash the ball home when the Banchory player pulled his shirt back, with everyone waiting for the award of a penalty… ..but to everyone’s disbelief it wasn’t given.
FT 1-1
A dominant performance today across the 90 minutes, with the squad frustrated not take all 3 points. The goalscorer (Conor Killoh) is pictured.
