Steve Morrison stood in for Manager Kevin Bonarius who was unavailable due to other committments as Colony took a well deserved three points away to a hard working and battling Deveronside.
Colony were slow to get started but took the lead on 19 mins when Mitchell Cheyne (pictured) scored a rare goal when he fired a strong free kick high into the net. This gave Colony confidence and they started to grow into the game. However, Deveronside equalised in the 28th min. Colony then regained the lead in the 57th min with a great finish from Jay Halliday on the volley. In the 75th min Deveronside we’re reduced to 10 men when the lively Blair McKenzie was brutally taken out by the last man. The resulting free kick was scored by Stuart McKay with the aid of a massive deflection. Colony showed great game management to see out the remaining minutes, and could have added to the score-line after creating a number of chances.
