A hard fought 2 -1 victory, against a strong and resilient Llanrwst team , saw our Under 12's secure the points they needed to confirm themselves as League Champions for this season.
Understandably nervous in the first half, the boys struggled to create too many chances but remained solid in defence, safe in the knowledge that a "clean sheet" , would give us the point we needed to secure the title.
The lads started the second half positively and a flowing move ended with Rhys Yates heading in at the far post.
The boys were to double their advantage minutes later, when a foul by the Llanrwst goalkeeper on Hari Gwilym, resulted in the refereee awarding a penalty. Alex Roberts calmly stepped up and slotted home from the spot.
Llanrwst battled to the end and pulled a goal back near the end, to ensure a nervous couple of minutes.
At the final whistle the boys had won 2-1 and put the seal on a tremendous season, that has seen them only loose one game, scoring more than 100 goals in the process. ....... All this has been achieved with just a 13 man squad !!
These lads are an absolute pleasure to coach. "Attitude, Effort and Commitment" .... has been our motto this season ..... and these boys show these qualities and more week in week out.
A great group of "mates" ...... and not bad footballers either !! I am proud to manage such a fantastic group of lads.
Next Stop ..... Macron Cup Final this Sunday (28th). Come on lads lets "do the double" !!
