The Bears bowed out of the FA Cup in a reply at AFC Fyle after a dramatic televised tie at the Cleric Stadium saw them come within minutes of causing a major upset in front of a modern record 1,139 fans

Daniel Needham opened the scoring with a brilliant finish on the 75th minute after a chest down from Tom Pope and as the clock ran down the Bears faithful dared to dream, until Fylde were awardd a free-kick in stoppage time on the edge of the Bears box, Haughgton curled it into the corner, leaving Dave Parton stranded.

The replay was always going to be tough and so it proved, with Fylde taking a 3-0 lead and Bears keeper Parton having to go off injured after a nasty challenge which lead to the third goal.

Hopes were raised just before half time, Ethan Hartshorn pulling one back and in the second half the Bears really had a go, crearing a nuber of chances and having several good penalty shouts turned down.

In the end it took two breakaway goals for the home side to give the scoreline a flattering 5-1 look.

The team had given their all and never gave up at any point, a great credit to the club.
