Consett Rugby Clubs Annual Beer and Rugby Festival will have added spice this weekend as it celebrates the rising number of women now playing the traditionally hard, gritty, game of rugby. Belle Vue is a hive of activity- the Marquee is has arrived and we are stocking up on all the liquid refreshments! Doors open at 7pm tonight and our band for the evening ‘Canny Crack’ will be starting their set at 8pm. Kids activities will be available from 7pm until late. Bestselling children’s author Terry Deary the author of ‘Horrible Histories’ has kindly agreed to come along again and sign copies of his book between 4pm and 7pm, so remember to bring your copy. Terry is now involved in two new projects – a film and a book - which actively promote accessibility for women in sport. We hope to see you tonight, Saturday and Sunday!
