For those not on FB or Twitter, CRFC are supplying information on the funeral of Les Barron. Les was a long-time life member and player across all teams, playing until the age of 62. He was a fantastic servant to the Club. He was a warrior, a friend, teammate and a true brother. He will be sorely missed by Pam, Andrew and Steven and his close family but also by the Consett Rugby Club family who will truly miss his quiet unassuming manner both on and off the pitch.

Once part of the Consett RFC family always part of the family. We are asking all members and family members across all levels to show their respect for Les and his family and give him one last tunnel in our colours by following the official club announcement below.

God bless Les and his family. RIP

“The funeral will take place on Tuesday 9th June at 10.15am at Mountsett Crematorium. Due to the current restrictions, please do not attend the funeral unless you have been invited directly by the family.

As a club, I am sure we all would like to pay our respects to a great man. The funeral cortege will drive along Medomsley Road, past the Clubhouse to Number 1 roundabout.
Anybody who would like to pay respects, we are suggesting to use parking facilities at the Clubhouse and Leisure Centre before lining along Medomsley Road in advance of the cortege, likely to be passing at 9.40-ish, where the cortege will slow down.
The Clubhouse will not be open. When restrictions lift, plans will be made to recognise this sad time appropriately. Where in attendance, Number 1’s seem appropriate.

Les did not want flowers but if anyone would like to make a donation, the family have requested these to be made to Guide Dogs for the Blind, to sponsor a puppy.
The link for this site is below, where you can donate ‘In Memory’.
