4th vs 5th this weekend as Consett travel to Horden & Peterlee.
Only one point separates the two teams in the league. Horden come into the game following a defeat from bottom of the league Hartlepool. Meanwhile Consett come into the game off the back of a strong win with a big scoreline against Rovers. Previous form goes out the window coming into this tough fixture with both sides aiming to prove points against one another.
Both sides have some 1st team regulars missing for the fixture which allows players to step up and put forward a bid for a regular starting position in the 1st XV. A 1st team debut will be given to Nathan Cleary who has been one of the clubs best newcomers this year. Chrissy Urwin comes back into the 1st team and will be looking to make a big impact on return. Consett opt for an exciting back line stacked with pace and power. The forward pack offers both stability at set piece and breakdown, whilst having the mobility around the park. Horden will be excellent at set piece and will try and dominate the collision area but they also have the ability to put the ball wide and attack the flanks.
Travelling fans are urged to arrive in good time as the ground will be crowded, for what is expected to be an exciting battle. The home side have a live music event following on from the game and have extended an invitation to travelling players and spectators to stay and enjoy the post match festivities.
For anyone unaware, the home side now play at Horden & Peterlee RFC, Eden Lane, Peterlee, County Durham, SR8 5DJ. Kick off is 3pm.
