Joining the club are:
Mike Sharples, a 6ft 2” defender, who was with Bala Town last season. Herbert has beaten off competition from a host of other clubs to sign the commanding 23 year old centre half. Sharples said after signing: "After speaking with Chris and seeing the quality players he is bringing in made me want to be part of the plans at Conwy Borough.”
Connor Lewis is a 19 year old midfielder who was with Wigan Athletic FC last season and is now looking forward to the challenge at Conwy Borough. Connor commented: “This is a new challenge for me and hopefully I can help the club progress and look forward to the challenge.”
Creating competition between the sticks is Australian goalkeeper Matt Kasbarian who was with Conference North side Vauxhall Motors last season before appearing briefly for Rhyl. “I’m really happy to sign for Conwy, I played at Y Morfa last season for Rhyl, and was impressed with the set up. I really have a good feeling about the place and look forward to working with Chris again.”
Dylan Corrie is a 19 year old attacking full-back who appeared for St Helens Town last season.
“This is a big chance for me. I intend to grab it with both hands and look forward to playing infront of the Conwy fans.”
Chris Herbert commented on his new signings:
"Matt Kasbarian is a top keeper at this standard, his kicking is up there with the best, he is brave, loud, and is happy to come and collect crosses. He has all the attributes to be playing at a higher level and I am sure he will be great for Conwy Borough."
“Mike Sharples is a big talent and will be a big part of the club moving forward. Mike is a commanding centre half, he is a big threat on set pieces for and against with his ariel ability and he can also play. He will be a real leader in our squad.”
“I went to watch Dylan Corrie on several occasions last season at St Helen's, he always stood out and that was playing as a right back. Dylan is only 20, and feel he is someone Keegs and myself can work with. His attitude in training has made him stand out. Dylan is exactly what I'm looking for in a full back, lots of energy, very quick, likes to get on the ball, and his fitness levels are superb.”
“Conner Lewis has come into pre-season hungry to do well, and was keen to impress. He is a exciting talent who can play anywhere on the right or in centre midfield and he has all the attributes to become a top player. He was only released by Wigan last season and I'm sure we can help get the best out of him this season.”
All four new signings will be making their debut’s next week away to TNS, along with Lee Hammond, Jimmy Kelly and Assistant Manager John Keegan who is also set to make an appearance.
