“The club is absolutely delighted to have secured the services of Matty. Having spoken to him at length the club is confident that he shares our vision and is the right man to take us forward.

Matty himself is a UEFA A Licence Candidate but will also bring with him a very strong staff that includes ex-pro Stuart Howson who is a UEFA B Licence holder as Assistant Manager and Roger Jones who is a B Licence Candidate as First Team Coach/Physio.

Everyone at the club welcomes the new management and are looking forward to working with them in the coming seasons to take the club forward.”

Following his appointment Matty commented:-

“I am delighted to be joining Conwy Borough as First Team Manager. This has been the easiest decision I’ve made in football after speaking with the chairman and a couple of board members, it is clear that that this is the club I want to call home for years to come. I am really excited by the direction the club are looking to go in and can’t wait to get going in being part of the team that moves the club in that direction

I am also really pleased that Stu and Rog will be joining me and I can’t wait to speak to the existing players about our plans”

We also caught up with Stu Howson:-
“ I'm really looking forward to continuing a long term project with Matty at Conwy. The club want to develop and I want to play a key role in that. Personally I am keen to keep learning and improving as a coach and can't wait to get back at it with Conwy.“

Following confirmation of his appointment Matty will be speaking to the current squad in the near future to outline his plans.
