With this fixture being rearranged from earlier this year it was a game where Corsham had little to play for other than pride and some confidence to end the season on.
The weather was glorious, maybe dare we say it, a little too hot for an athletic game of netball but the team started it off on a steady pace.
Slowly the goals were trickling in and more and more turnovers were being capitalised on and Corsham went into the first break with a good 14 goal lead.
With the half time looming, while seeming to take an age as the sun was still beating down and making the play slightly more sluggish than normal, it seemed Corsham were out there to prove a point and finish the season with a thumping result. The half time score was a whopping 33-13.
For the first time that it has happened for the Corsham Swindon Ladies, off came 2 mum's and on came thier daughter's, with Michelle and Deb making way for the mini me's they gave the Lauren and Jas the opportunity to get us over the 50 goal mark.
And that is just what they did, with the defence doing what they needed to do and interceptions and turnovers being taken advantage off, Corsham ran out easy victors 53-22.
A note to Burmah, they never gave up and what a lovely team and game to play. They were smiling and happy. I know all of us would play them time again not because of the score but because of the enjoyment.
Correspondence player of the match - Lou, Center is a position many don't put thier hand up for anyway, but in that heat, Lou kept on going and was where she always needed to be.
Burmah player - Alice, a full match played and some wonderful balls into the circle to ensure that 50 goal mark was surpassed it is no surprise she received thier POM.
So our season has finished, it gives us some time to re-group and focus on what we can achieve next season.
