Cotham Park made a statement with their opening game of 2017 by dispatching Tetbury 27-64 in an away fixture. It was a fitting tribute to former captain Dom Carroll, who was playing in his 300th game for the club.
Jake Arrindell bagged a hat-trick of tries (and very nearly a fourth), there was a brace each for Ben Collins and Damien Myers, and Connor French and Mark Goodfellow both crossed the line for one try apiece. A penalty try from a dominant scrum rounded the try count up to 10. Andrew Mallin found his boots after a difficult start to finish with 7 conversions.
Mick Glenfield was the recipient of a yellow card late in the game as he desperately tried to foil a Tetbury try.
Man of the Match was awarded to the 3-try terminator, Jake.
