Today we welcome NFK Burbage to Allard Way for a 3pm kick off, in what is our 1st home game of the season.
So far this season we have had 9 games away, 7 in the league and 2 in the Buildbase FA Vase. We currently sit 17th in the league with 7 points from 7 away games.
We now come to our first home game and I'm guessing many of you wouldn't have been to Copsewood to watch us before. Today though could be the perfect day for you to do that. With no Coventry City game today and the sun shining, we would really appreciate that extra bit of support from you so why not come down and see what we are all about.
The team has changed a lot this season, after Darren Dickson stepped down as manager after the win at the Ricoh Arena in The Telegraph Cup Final. Joe Conneely and Neil Collett took over the reigns as joint managers and changes had to be made straight away when a lot of the old guard decided that they were going to leave the club. Neil and Joe quickly decided that they wanted to bring in young hungry players that wanted to listen and learn, so they built up a relationship with the Strachan Academy , which has benefited us with some good young talent, they also took an interest in the new Copsewood youth team, where young Sam Ellis has impressed so much and at the age of 17 is one of the first names on the team sheet. So now we have a young squad with an average age of about 20 who all want to play football in the right way.
So please if you have a spare couple of hours this afternoon come along to Allard Way and support our local non league club in sky blue. Entry price is £5 Adults, £3 Concessions and U16's free with a paying adult, there is free parking, the bar will be open and the kitchen upstairs serves hot and cold food. You can also get drinks and snack from the pitch side cafe.
