Dave Bull’s Coventry Sphinx Youth team have performed well this season and the standard of their performances has now been acknowledged by the County FA who have named four of the Sphinx youngsters in the squad for their fixture against the Bedfordshire FA Under 18 representative team.
The goal scoring exploits of the Coventry Sphinx Under 18s has been led by Dan Kelly who has recorded an incredible 30 goals in his 19 games this season. Strike partner T’ahje Smith has an equally impressive strike rate with 15 goals in his 10 appearances. Alex Pearson has supported the strikers superbly from his attacking midfield position and he has also chipped in with 8 goals in his 18 appearances. Right Back Callum Mack also joins them in the squad and his consistent performances in the Sphinx defence get the reward. Callum is also a very capable player going forward and scored arguably one of the goals of the season when he completed a rampaging run from full back to finish with the coolness of a seasoned striker.
We should all be very proud of the young Coventry Sphinx footballers who have received a call up and equally proud of their team mates who have contributed just as much to the season so far.
