Fixture: Boldmere St Michael’s v Coventry Sphinx
Date: Friday 12th April, 2019
Venue: Trevor Brown Memorial Ground, Church Road, Boldmere, Sutton Coldfield, B73 5RY
PREVIEW: Coventry Sphinx travel to Boldmere on Friday boosted by their win at Quorn on Saturday. Sphinx have just four games remaining of the season and a win at Boldmere would lift them above Boldmere and into 6th place. A win for Boldmere would lift them into 5th place above Shepshed Dynamo so there is plenty to play for, for both sides.
COVENTRY SPHINX: Coventry Sphinx ended their run without a win Saturday with an entertaining 4-3 win at Quorn. Ryan Harkin opened the scoring and a double from Callum Woodward was capped with another goal from Alex Pearson.
THE OPPOSITION: Boldmere have moved into the top 6 recently and last time out they won 3-2 at home against third bottom Loughborough University. There have been plenty of goals for both teams in Boldmere home matches this season with the last four matches at the Trevor Brown Memorial Ground producing score lines of 3-3, 2-3, 2-4 and 4-3.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS: The two teams last met over the Christmas period at Sphinx Drive. 200+ spectators watched an enthralling contest go in favour of Coventry Sphinx. The goals came in a spell midway through the second half with Grandison opening the scoring for Sphinx. Skinner responded with an equaliser but minutes later Matt Gardner got what turned out to be the winner.
FACILITIES: You will find modern seating within a covered stand alongside the pitch. There is also some standing cover behind the goal at the clubhouse end. Within the ground you have access to a Bar, food, drink and toilet facilities.
PARKING: There is limited parking available at the ground but there is plenty of on street parking outside the ground should you require it.
