During the lockdown restrictions our friends at the Coventry Music Museum were unfortunately forced to close to visitors. This meant a loss of valuable income for the gem in Coventry's cultural crown.
Due to the strong links between Coventry Sphinx and the Music Museum we were keen to try to do something to help.
The Museum were previous winners of the Coventry Sphinx Golden Ticket and we were proud to wear the name on our 1st team home shirts for the season. It seemed like an obvious choice to gift the shirts to the Museum in order that they can be sold to raise much needed funding. We hope the sales can ensure it continues to be such an asset to the forthcoming Coventry City of Culture and for the thousands of visitors keen to learn about the influence of the city on the music world.
The Museum curators are Pete and Julie Chambers and Pete had this to say about the donation, "We were honoured as a museum to originally sponsor the team, and honoured now with this wonderful kind gesture that will help the museum financially and spotlight our two great local Coventry brands once again working together in partnership"Pete Chambers BEM.
The shirts can be purchased by visiting the Museum on Walsgrave Road which is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 10am - 3.30pm.
