The new season begins on Tuesday 1st September with an FA Cup tie at Romulus and we can announce the squad numbers for our first team squad. The players will be wearing a new kit and more details on our sponsor and the kit will be revealed in the coming days.
Squad number 1: TOM CROSS (Goalkeeper) - Now in his third season at the club with 70 appearances for the club under his belt.
Squad number 2: PATSUN TUFAN (Defender) - Emerged from our Youth team to become an almost ever present last season. Can play anywhere across the backline and as consistent as they come.
Squad number 3: DANNY FRASER (Left Back/Winger) - Joined the club in the summer from Racing Club Warwick. Previously had a long spell at Coventry Copsewood after originally coming through our Youth set up.
Squad number 4: LIAM CAIRNS - Vice Captain - (Midfielder) - Now onto his 5th season with the club, the ever reliable midfielder has now racked up well over 100 appearances in the Blue and White of Sphinx.
Squad Number 5: LOUIS GUEST - Vice Captain - (Defender) - Another former Sphinx Junior with over 100 first team appearances behind him.
Squad Number 6: JAMES BRYSON (Defender) - A new recruit who has joined us from GNP Sports. A strong centre back who will add more quality and depth to the defensive department.
Squad number 7: LAWRENCE RAWLINGS (Winger) - Swept the board at the end of season awards and rightly so.
Squad number 8: CALLUM WOODWARD - Captain - (Midfielder) - Now in his second spell at the club after emerging from our Youth team previously. Four seasons on and his second spell has accumulated over 100 appearances and 26 goals.
Squad number 9: COLIN SMITH (Striker) - Arrived during last season and immediately got among the goals.
Squad number 10: LEWIS NOON - Vice Captain - (Midfielder) - Rapidly established himself in the Sphinx team after joining from Bedworth last summer.
Squad number 11: ASHANTI PRYCE (Striker) - Arrived just before lockdown but got 3 goals in 3 games to announce his presence.
Squad number 12: JAMIE DRAPER (Defender) - Youth team defender with a number of first team starts in the bank already.
Squad number 14: JACK DOWNES (Midfielder) - Made his first team debut aged 16 and now returns to add real depth to our midfield options.
Squad number 15: CHARLIE McCONNACHIE (Full Back) - A former Sphinx Junior and Aston Villa Youth team player. Joined the club last summer.
Squad number 16: HARVEY BILLING (Midfielder) - Last season the Youth team captain made an impact in the first team too and more is expected of him this season.
Squad number 17: MJ (Striker) - A young and talented striker joins from Rugby Town and will add unpredictability to our attacking options.
Squad number 18: Mo Billy (Striker) - An exciting talent who has come through our junior system. Already made his competitive first team debut and scored.
Squad number 19: Liam Kay (Defender) - Oozes class and a leader at the back. A bundle of experience behind him and a former Sphinx junior too.
Squad number 20: Scott Hammond (Midfielder) - Put in some match winning performances last season after joining from GNP Sports.
Squad number 21: Andre Edwards (Defender) - The summer recruit has already proven a popular addition with his all action style.
Squad number 22: Alex Pearson (Midfielder) - A youth team graduate who has already proven his eye for goal.
Squad number 23: Cameron Welch (Defender) - The Youth team left back has looked at ease in the first team squad and has already demonstrated his composure.
Squad number 24: Zach Tellyn (Midfielder) - Another Youth team player with a cultured left foot. One to watch out for.
Squad number 27: Jude O’Connor (Goalkeeper) - The Youth team keeper is expected to push Tom Cross for a starting place this season.
