Under 18s travel to Nottingham

By Sharon Taylor

Thursday night trip for Youth

There are two games to go and second place Coventry Sphinx are still in the title race but they know a win at Nottingham is essential to maintain their hopes of finishing top of the pile. Nottingham are on a good run of form and their five game unbeaten run has lifted them into fourth place in the league table.
On Saturday, the Coventry Sphinx first team were in action and the Youth team were well represented in the squad. Callum Mack made his debut at right back and played the full 90 minutes. Striker Dan Kelly also made his first start after a number of substitute appearances and a goal in the previous first team league match. Alex Pearson was the star of the show with an expertly taken goal on the volley that opened the scoring inside the first minute.
Coventry Sphinx Youth won their last game 7-1 at Rugby Borough but they know they will be in for a tougher test in this fixture. In October Nottingham visited Sphinx Drive and a goal laden game ended with a 5-3 win for Coventry Sphinx.
