Youth continue to make their mark

Shaun Thomas and John Woodward have added Youth team prospects Zachary Tellyn and Cameron Welch to the Coventry Sphinx first team squad for the forthcoming season.
Sphinx Under 18s team mates Jamie Draper, Harvey Billing and Mo Billy all made the breakthrough to the first team last season in their first year of youth football. The trio accumulated 38 appearances for the first team last season and there are high hopes for the next duo to come through and have a similar impact.
Zac is a creative midfielder who compliments that with an exceptional work ethic. Zac has an excellent passing range and vision to go with it. The left footer can play anywhere across the midfield and is developing well at Coventry Sphinx. Cameron is a left back who has long been admired coming through the junior system at the club. He made his Youth team debut while still playing for the Under 16s. His reading of the game, excellent touch and composure have led to his involvement with the first team.
Tellyn and Welch have already featured for the first team in pre-season and their hard work and ability has been swiftly rewarded with first team recognition. They will also continue their development in our Youth team set up and we look forward to watching their progress at the club.
