Posties deliver result just in time and Keith receives his 100 game cap late

A trip south for Cowley to our friends the Stroud Post Office for our penultimate mid-week match.
The weather was as kind as our hosts as they elected to bowl first on winning the toss (as Cowley had not banked on some heavy traffic and were only half a team for the start of the match).
Jonny continued his good run of form with typically positive cricket and soon retired again on reaching 26. Adrian was looking in reasonable touch before throwing his wicket away, caught for 16. Joel batted well for 8 before following his fathers bad example. Will started with 8 singles but then found another gear and retired for a well played 27. Phil was bowled for a less well played 1. Kieth and Aji combined well despite some dubious calling/running to finish 17 and 12 not our respectively and Cowley completed their 20 overs on 122 for 3.

The Stroud innings featured a steady progression of batsmen back to the pavilion, unfortunately retiring rather than dismissed despite some good bowling and fielding. Kieth finally got a wicket (bowled) and then took a good boundary catch from Jonnys bowling.Ajay bowled really well in his first Cowley appearance. Jonny effected a run out but bowling the final over of the match was unable to stop the posties reaching their target with 3 balls to spare.

We gave it a good go but were again narrowly second best on the evening. Congratulations to Keith who was presented with his 100 games cap (slightly late), many thanks to the posties who were great sports and put on a lovely tea for us after the game.
