Cowling Harlequins 10 Meltham All Blacks 50

Three red cards and a one sided ref stopped cowling against a well drilled meltham side.

Meltham got out of the blocks first with a well executed three quick fire tries to take the wind well and truly out of the harlequins sail but Cowling did get on the score board on the 15th minute when Man of the match Danny Windle hit Daz Greenwood with the ball on the left edge and he in turn found Jack Niniss-Stodart out wide with a cut out ball to go in at the corner Goal missed by Dave Gooding.
Then the circus of penalty's and the first of the three red cards killed the game and when the all blacks went in at the corner winger Jordan Powell question the try and saw red and on the very next set Cowling was down to eleven when quins other winger Ashley Wood was red carded for suspected tripping Meltham found the space and hit cowling wide to go in at the break 24-4 up.
Second half good work from Liam Mitchell, Daniel Spencer and Chris Ashworth got cowling in strike range and Craig Nicholson carved a gap and went in to shock the all blacks Scott Cunningham kicked the two but only minutes later Nicholson did a one on one ball steal and the ref red carded him and then as all the quins teams asked for the reason the ref abandoned the game on the 72nd minute.
Now the quins have to pick them selfs up and forget this game to go get two much needed points next week at home to Kings Cross Park A hoping the sea of red cards is behind them and build on putting three teams out over the weekend with both junior teams playing well and showing the cowling spirit.
