Trearddur Bay Bulls take the 3 points in season opener !

CPD Glantraeth hosted newly formed Trearddur Bay Bulls at Cae Glantraeth in the 2019-20 season opener. Trearddur Bay Bulls, formally Bryngrwan Bulls and Anglesey league champions.

1st Half

In blustery conditions Trearddur Bay captain Iolo Jones won the toss and chose to play with the wind and look to use it to their advantage. In an early break Cian Evans was able to break down the left hand delivering a great cross to the back post which was turned wide of the back post by Josh Radin from close range. Trearddur Bay then began to take a foot hold in the game using the wind to their advantage and showing their experience on the 10th minute with a fantastic run down the right from full back John Jones who found the head of Justin Williams who headed calmly past Sam Thomas in the Glantraeth goal. (CPD Glantraeth 0 - Trearddur Bay 1, 19 Minute). CPD Glantraeth struggled to get a foothold in the game with Trearddur Bay using the wind to pin back CPD Glantraeth in their own half and limiting them playing on the counter attack. The first half saw most of the attacking play from Trearddur Bay with CPD Glantraeth dealing well with it. With the half coming to a close Trearddur Bays persistance came through and they got their second of the game on 38 minute with centre half Anton Williams finishing from close range after a good ball in from Dave Webb. (CPD Glantraeth 0 - Trearddur Bay 2, 38 Minute) Within 2 minutes of the restart Trearddur Bay had their 3rd on the 40th minute. In a similar situation to the previous goal, this time Gwynfor Owen finishing well from a Tom Verburg cross. (CPD Glantraeth 0 - Trearddur Bay 3, 40 Minute). 2nd Half
Now with the wind CPD Glantraeth now looked to take advantage of the wind in the second half and started the 2nd half well. Within the first few seconds Cian Evans broke free and forced a great save from Bulls keeper Konner Druce which in turn led to produce a break away goal as the ball got cleared Iolo Jones played in Justin Williams he rounded the keeper to make it 4-0 on 47th minute. (CPD Glantraeth 0 - Trearddur Bay 4, 47 Minute). Still looking to get of the mark CPD Glantraeth were awarded a penalty on the 59th minute as he was fouled in the box after the referee ignored the calls for offside by the lines man. Cian Evans stepped up but his penalty was well saved by goalkeeper Konnor Druce. With CPD Glantraeth 4 down Tomos Williams was brought on for Colin Staines.
On the 65 mins matty Roberts is great work down the left caused havoc in the Glantraeth box with the ball ending in the CPD Glantraeth goal to make it 5-0. (CPD Glantraeth 0 - Trearddur Bay 5, 65 Minute). Trearddur Bay weren't done and again found themselves in space and fired the ball in the top corner on the 78th minute. (CPD Glantraeth 0 - Trearddur Bay 6, 78 Minute). To compound a bad day for CPD Glantraeth former striker Tom Hadley finished off the scoring on 83 with an close range effort. (CPD Glantraeth 0 - Trearddur Bay 7, 83Minute). A difficult first day to the season but lots of positives to be taken and we move on to Thursday nights fixture in Llangoed.
