The Evans surname has been an integral part of LLannerchymedd fc’s recent success with the late Chris Evans who sadly left us last year, Brother Deion, and now the Father, Medwyn.
Med’s wealth of knowledge can only inspire the youngsters of LLan fc, an early Cap for the Welsh under 15’s saw Medwyn progress as an apprentice at Wrexham fc where he later became a professional player. Later on in life Med’s moved back to and played for clubs nearer to home, namely Bangor City, Bethesda, Glantraeth, Bodedern and LLannerchymedd. Manager Tomos Jones said “When someone of Med’s quality offers his assistance on the touchline there were only two words said, “Yes please” his none stop encouragement and directing on the side has already got people talking, even though we lost our first match together, the players showed more commitment and belief in themselves with a solid performance against a good LLangefni side”. Medwyn commented “As a player, all you want to do is get on the park and play, knowing Tomos for such a long time and knowing he still wants to be on that Park Playing, his role as Player/Manager was going to be difficult, so I offered my services as his assistant for as long as he wants my support”. “This club has so much history and I appreciate the chance of being part of the coaching staff as well as having the privilege to have played for them in my early days”.
LLannerchymedd Chairman Elwyn Hughes said “We know the players at LLannerchymedd are all great players but with the added support for Tomos in the acquisition of Medwyn Evans can only strengthen the club”.
