Saturday (12/08/23) saw us make the journey to face CPD Talysarn Celts at Gloddfa Glai. With both teams missing key personnel for this one, Llan made 2 enforced changes as Gareth Allman and Dion Owen replaced the missing Josh Evans and Gwion Owen.

In the First Half, there wasn't much action to talk about, other than two great chances that fell to Dion Owen , after doing all the hard work and with just the GK to beat both times, somehow the Keeper came out on top to keep Talysarn in the game. Otherwise there was a few half chances from both sides but as the Half came to an end it was still stalemate.

Into the Second Half and Llan was forced to make an early change as Mark Jones came off with Cai Miller replacing him. And soon Cai found himself in the game with a fierce drive that rattled the Hosts crossbar, only for it to bounce out to safety. But the deadlock was broken on 53 minutes, corner from right hand side by Ben Hughes which was met by a thumping header in the 6 yard box by James Burgess to the roof of the net to make it 1-0 for Llan. At this time Llan were pretty comfortable on the ball, but were made to pay by a couple of errors in the back that led to Talysarn going 2-1 in a flash through Jack Usher and then Garem Jones. From being comfortable one minute to being 2-1 down in a couple of extraordinary minutes. It soon turned worse for the Medd as Ben Hughes had his marching orders for two bookable offences. By now Llan were really up against it and Talysarn were threatening with a third goal with some whipping left foot corners coming into the box several times, but credit to Llan they never gave up and kept going and trying hard to find that all important equaliser. Callum, Andy, Luke and Hari all came on for Sion Jones's men to freshen things up but unfortunately it wasn't to be an equaliser and the game finished 2-1.

On reflection of the game, it was a good effort by the lads especially to come to a very tough place against a very good team and to go ahead in the game, but costly errors proved to be the difference in the game in the end and the lads must pick themselves up quickly and learn and move on from this quickly.
